U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy does it, Senator Russ Feingold does it and the Arizona Democratic Party does it too: running their websites on Textpattern.

The company behind many textpattern driven sites for U. S. democrats is Blue State Digital.
The partners of Blue State Digital – Jascha Franklin-Hodge, Clay Johnson, Joe Rospars and Ben Self – started the company immediately after working for Howard Dean’s presidential campaign in 2004. Since then, the company has grown to 22 employees with offices in Boston and Washington, D.C. and works with over 40 clients – including Sen. Ted Kennedy’s (D-Mass.) campaign, Gov. Tom Vilsack’s (D-Iowa) PAC—Heartland PAC, the AFL-CIO, the DNC and the Democratic Governors Association.

Blue State Digital consults with campaigns, non-profits and corporations to build robust, active online communities by providing and creating original technology and advising clients on strategy, such as blogging and raising money online.

They just landed a spot on the 5th annual 50 Fast report. Fast 50 list focuses on people who will change how we work and live over the next 10 years.

A bit smaller is Jerry Troiano´s business Publius Design. Jerry was the web designer for the Dean campaign in New Jersey. He lately designed and build Russ Feingolds website.

Asking Jerry why he decided to use Texpattern he replies:
The first line at textpattern.com explains quite well why I started using Txp: ”[F]ree, flexible, elegant, easy-to-use…” All of which, as it happens, turned out to be true. I love the separation of content from presentation, the community is awesome and there’s practically no limit to what can be done with it.

Now the question is: When will Hillary turn to Textpattern? :)
