Update Tickets are taken.

Just a quick note: Bastian did win 2 tickets for the semi world cup final in Dortmund/Germany. As he is not in Germany at that time (i think it is July, 4th) he gives his tickets away. Of course Bastian would be delighted if you invite him to a beer, knitt him underpants or dedicate a poem to him ;).

Let him know so far you are interested .

CSS Reboot is always a special event on the web. This year was a bit of a shame as their server was down for 3 days – nevertheless here is the list of Textpattern rebooters. Please do not hesitate to vote for the ones you regard well designed.

Cow Inside

Alex, 14.01.06

“Single, 25 years of age, currently medicated for schizophrenia” is the selfdescription of Jin. But mind me, an important attribute seems to be missing: Jin is a talented writer.

On his blog cowinside.com he posts about his daily life and struggles; Often frank, sometimes cruel that it might hurt, always touching emotions we all experience but love to hide.

From his blog:
_Eventually the thunder bloody woke me up and got me out. It

Christmas angel

I think this year Kursor, zem, Sencer, mary, maniqui and many others did do a great Textpattern job.
A big Thank You guys!

Is a “Thank you” really enough? No. That´s why we collect some money for some christmas presents for our developers and moderators – as there are:

  • mary
  • maniqui
  • Sencer
  • zem
  • Kusor
  • Destry

and we collect some money for some cheese :).

So please go over to the TXP Forum, read this thread and donate a couple of Dollars via PAYPAL.

EDIT
I am happy to announce that the first donations came in …
Please join the fund raising too!

www.douar.net

We are happy to report about the very first TXP site made in Algeria! Rabah Messaoudi aka dragondz set it up in french language. The site focuses on algerian social and cultural issues.

Please welcome www.douar.net!

While writing this entry my heart is full of sorrow.
Sivert Nielsen (*sivni*), many TXP community members know him from textgarden.org, did pass away.

Sivert battled with depression and panic attacks for many years. On his personal blog he did talk about his medication and feelings frankly. I admired him for his braveness.

Sivert lost his battle on July 16th.

In respectful memory our condolences go out to him and his loved ones.

A very sad Alex

Post Scriptum
Dean Allen says:
Do please keep posting your thoughts on the forum – I think it’s important that Sivert’s mother Anne-Mette and brother Sigurd have a chance to see how well-liked and respected Sivert continues to be, and how he’ll be missed.
Textgarden will be taken offline for the time being while we work out who’ll take over running it, and of course whatever form it takes will be dedicated to Sivert’s memory.

The dev´s language

[So, anybody still around claiming non-dev´s should read TRAC ;)?]

This is happily announced

Sencer, part time developer of TXP

The TXP community has a freshly appointed inofficial “chief of permanent lightning and strike detonator??? :) – pretty well known by long time TXP forum users as Sencer.
The great news are: he just joined the TXP developer team.

Sencer is a Cologne based student of computer science. Right now he is writing on his master thesis. Due to that, we can regard him as our part time TXP developer – and i am sure he enjoys it.

Knowing Sencer from some other occasions, i can tell you, he´s a nice, bright and at times pretty funny guy.

Avlack, Website of Jolo Santos, Philippines

Avlack is the TXP driven website of 20 year old graphic designer Jolo Santos from Manila, Phillipines.

Jolo says:
I was really a wordpress user, but things did change when I played around with textpattern last january 2005. The UI and Simplicity of TXP is a plus for me, and of course ease of use and large plugin repository is also a factor. The community and people behind the TXP have been of great help.

A warm welcome from TXP Magazine to Jolo!
